We will be commemorating the centenary of the Armistice on 11th November. We have a Roll of Honour in church with the names of those, who lived in the community, who served and died in the First World War.
The names are listed here
We invite anyone who may be related to, or know of, these men to contribute to our display of photographs and memorabilia. Contributions about others who served in the war are also welcome. Items can be brought into church any Saturday or Wednesday morning between 10.30am and 12 noon.
We’d also like people to make poppies – from fabric, paper, wool or any other suitable material – to add to our poppy display. We invite you to bring your poppy to church on Sunday 11th November for our 10am service when the display will be put together. This will be followed by a Service of Remembrance at 11am, around the War Memorial in the church garden.
If you are unable to attend on the Sunday, you may bring poppies to church on the Saturday morning, the previous day, or at other times by arrangement.
