St. Leonard’s is one of a group of five Church of England parishes within Banbury, situated in the Grimsbury area of the town. Our style of worship is traditional, drawing on the richness of ritual and enhanced by the use of choral music and congregational singing. We are a very friendly congregation with a wide range of ages who are able to work together and support each other, both in Worship and during our regular weekly activities.
In line with current Coronavirus restrictions, the church and hall are closed until further notice.
If you would like prayer, or practical support, for you or someone else, please get in touch.

St Leonard’s is registered with the organisation Inclusive Church. Inclusive Church is a group of Christians uniting together around its statement of belief:
“We believe in inclusive Church – church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”

St Leonard’s received the Diocesan
‘Family Friendly’ award in February 2016. Click here for the story featured in the Banbury Guardian.
Families can expect a warm welcome at services at St Leonard’s with busy bags and toys for babies and younger children and craft activities suitable for older children.
We also run a coffee morning on a Saturday, and an after school club at St Leonard’s school.

We are currently recruiting new choristers – in particular girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 14. More information about St Leonard’s choir and junior choir can be found here. Information about other music activities at St Leonard’s can be found here
